Nick Pitera

October 23rd, 2009

The name Nick Pitera may not be familiar to you. Nick does work at Pixar as a set modeler and lighter however the reason he made it to this blog is he did some amazing vocal performances of which included a few Disney Classics. Your jaw will drop after watching a few seconds of his performance.

This first video is Nick singing "Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid. Yes, that is his actual voice, no special modifications.

This next video is him singing a duet "A Whole New World" from Aladdin.

This last video is "A Whole New World" again but this time he sings it "live" on Ellen. This episode aired earlier this month.

I would recommend you check out and subscribe to his other videos (which he does include some Miley Cyrus covers) on YouTube as well follow him on Twitter.

Free Podcast and/or Vidcast Hosting

October 19th, 2009

Here at Mouse Magic HD we understand how tough it is to start a pod/vidcast. From deciding on equipment and software to getting a host to upload it can became a daunting task. That is why we are looking to help out newer podcasts and offer free hosting. That is right free as in no cost.

So what is the catch? There is none. We will not put ads on your site. You will get unlimited space and bandwidth (so don't worry if you 3 hour long shows get thousands of downloads a week, because we sure don't!). You can also even have your own domain name! (requires purchase from your own pocket, we will not supply that).

So why are we doing this? We are looking to help out others who might have a good idea but not all the resources to implement it. Also we are looking to expand our network.

So what do you have to do to get this offer? Well you need to contact us paul AT mousemagichd.com and give us your pitch. If you already have a show started send us some examples, if not tell us about your idea and if possible record a short demo (does not need to be the full show, just something to give us an idea of your skill and talent). We are mainly looking for Disney related content however would entertain any submissions. If we like it, we will start working on getting you setup so you can upload and create your site as well as your show.

Any questions, just use the above e-mail address as well.

TTA Audio Change Campaign

October 6th, 2009

It has come to our attention that sometime between September 15th and October 3rd the audio for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority has changed significantly. Due to the changes and re-theming of the storyline the famous line "Paging Mr. Marrow, Mr. Tom Morrow" has been removed. We believe that this change is for the worst (hey Disney can screw up from time to time, I mean look at Alien Encounter becoming Stitch's Great Escape) and are starting to organize a campaign to let Disney know how us, the fans and customers, feel about this change.

If you like the old audio here is the campaign. We will be contacting Disney asking them "to page Mr. Morrow. Mr. Tom Morrow." The best way to do this is to call Disney Guest Information at (407) 939-6244. You can also contact Disney online at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/contact/. If the Cast Member ask for more information or is confused explain nicely (please be kind to them!) that you are unhappy to hear of the change of audio at the Tomorrowland Transit Authority in the Magic Kingdom and believe the old audio should be reinstated immediately. Call and write everyday to let Disney know you are unhappy with the changes.

Also to help the campaign please send this blog post to all of your Disney friends. You can re-tweet it, e-mail it, open it up on their computer, etc. The more people that participate in the campaign the larger effect it will have an the higher chance that the old audio will return.

If you have not seen/heard the difference check out an older blog post and also exclusive audio from October 4th.

Update 10/11/2009: There is also an online petition which you may sign here.

TTA (aka PeopleMover) Audio Change?

October 4th, 2009

So there is some confusion on if the TTA (what I call WedWay PeopleMover) has new audio or not.

On September 15th Magic City Mayhem (Site and Twitter) posted a video where the old audio could be heard:

Then just yesterday a video was posted on YouTube by user AllypWDW in which the audio was completely replaced changing the storyline.

We are now asking for reports from individuals who have visited the Magic Kingdom recently so we can track the audio change and see how long Disney had the mistake of changing the audio (hopefully it has been corrected). If you have been to the Magic Kingdom recently and rode the TTA please post the date and audio version.

Also thanks to al3xg and justmikeyhrc aka MagicCityMayhem on Twitter for going to the Magic Kingdom in the next day or two to check on the audio for us.

Update: It was confirmed today by @al3xg that the audio is the new audio. Sound clip will be coming soon.

Current Possible Timeline
September 15, 2009: Old Audio
September/October ?? - October 2, 2009?: New Audio
October 3, 2009 - October 4, 2009: New Audio

It's…MY BIRTHDAY!

September 25th, 2009

Sorry for the break in format, folks, but today I think back to the trip my wife took me on to Walt Disney World for my 30th birthday. I was unemployed, my wife was 5 months pregnant, and we went for a September trip for 8 days! Had GLORIOUS 90° weather, hit both water parks (including Extra Magic Hours Evening at Typhoon Lagoon - which, if you've never done it, is a VERY different and awesome experience!), theme parks, Downtown Disney, you name it.

One of the best birthday days I ever had was this one. It was a Sunday, and my wife got us Advance Dining Reservations at Donald's Breakfastsaurus at Restaurantasaurus for the character meal. It was before the park opened, so as we made the right turn after passing through the Oasis, heading to Dinoland, USA, Tigger, Pooh, and Eyeore were all alone and looking for ANYONE!

AK Birthday - pre-breakfast characters

No doubt you notice the hat… that was part of the birthday basket Wifey gave me, delivered by the Disney florist the night before! I wore that and my special shirt there all day…and it was over 90°! WAY HOT under that hat! (Disclosure, I only wore it for photos after breakfast! LOL)

After breakfast we enjoyed a nice morning at Animal Kingdom. Around noon we boarded the bus to go to Boardwalk, and the ESPN Club. Because I was going to watch my team, the Buffalo Bills, play on TV!

We arrived at ESPN around 1, and told the server our game preference We were seated around 3 or so, but they had a TV on outside and they had an outdoor bar; it was like tailgating!

These were the glory days of the Dining Plan. 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 dessert, 1 non-alcoholic beverage. We ordered an order of nachos, an order of buffalo wings, we both ordered the steak, and for dessert we ordered coffees and a now-non-existant SuperBowl™ Sundae! ALL on the Dining Plan!

Birthday Dessert - SuperBowl™ Sundae!

The only thing that could have made my day better was if the Bills had won, but, alas, it was not to be.

We hit Epcot for Illuminations and some night riding of Soarin', Mission:Space and Test Track (for me, not Wifey! LOL).

All in all... It was my birthday, I was at Walt Disney World, I did a Character Breakfast, I watched the Bills, I had countless adult beverages at ESPN Club, I had a prepaid FANTASTIC 4-hour lunch/dinner, and I had this dessert

Disney magic certainly lived that trip, and continued when we returned home. I got a job shortly thereafter (3, actually!), and my Wife produced the most beautiful baby girl exactly 4 months after this day in my life.

So today, I salute you, my beloved wife, for providing me with this birthday fantasy!
