National Cherries Jubilee Day will make cherry lovers jubilant. If you enjoy cherries, you must absolutely love this day.
Cherries Jubilee is easy to make. All you need is a can of cherry pie filling, some cognac (or brandy) and vanilla ice cream.
Make today as sweet as a cherry. Enjoy National Cherries Jubilee Day to the max
===================================
Wow! As much as this could be a repeat trip to Tom Sawyer's Island in the Magic Kingdom, crazily enough, this day takes me to Epcot. Before you can have cherries, you need cherry blossoms. And before you have cherry blossoms, you need cherry trees.
And nothing says cherry trees like our first President, George Washington.
Today takes us back to the far reaches of World Showcase, back to the American Adventure. While they do not serve Cherries Jubilee, the americana is palpable in the dish and in the pavilion. And with Washington serving as the focus of several scenes in the show, it's a memorial to the man who famously is attributed (falsely) to have chopped down a cherry tree then told the truth of it to his father. Just as (falsely) there is Cherries Jubilee at Epcot!
So, today I salute you, American Adventure on this National Cherries Jubilee Day!
It's National Apple Dumpling Day!
September 17th, 2009Link: http://holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/September/appledumplingday.htm
Be a member of the Apple Dumpling Gang. National Apple Dumpling Day is today. We are celebrating a tasty fall treat. Its easy to make (and, even easier to buy!). Apple lovers can't resist this pastry, filled with sweet, delicious apples.
With the arrival of fall and cool weather, two things happen: the apple harvest begins, and people turn indoors to cooking and baking again. It's only natural that apples are a big part of the cooking scene. Among the most popular of fall treats is apple dumplings. For those of you who enjoy ice cream, some apple dumpling recipes include a scoop of ice cream atop a generous piece of Apple Dumpling.
Enjoy some Apple dumpling today. Chances are, you haven't had it since last Fall!
Happy National Apple Dumpling Day!

This is so simple for me it's not even funny. Tom Sawyer's Island at the Magic Kingdom.
Think about it...noplace else takes you back to that era when the applebaking season is in full swing like that small-town country setting of Tom Sawyer's Island. Some would say perhaps Main Street USA, but I think that's almost too cosmopolitan in a sense.
So, today we salute you, Tom Sawyer's Island!
Grey's Anatomy
September 16th, 2009So I really enjoy Grey's Anatomy, as I'm sure most of you do too. I was very upset at the end of last season, when Izzy and George both died. Well, I think you should see this:
Star Tours 2.0!
September 12th, 2009As a Star Wars fan, I was dissappionted to never go on Star Tours on my only trip to the world. But now, it has improved. D23 announces: STAR TOURS 2.0 (with Podracing!)
Fantasyland Expansion Rumors True
September 12th, 2009A few months ago blueprints for an expanded Fantasyland were leaked on the internet. The blueprints showed what to be a double Dumbo, a new Pixie Hollow as well as A Little Mermaid E-Ticket attraction. Today Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo confirmed that by 2013 Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom will double in size.
The majority of the New Fantasyland will be complete in 2012 with the Fairies and remainder in 2013. Also the current Fantasyland will be unaffected while the change is taking place. Toontown will be removed but unknown when.
I am very excited about this news. Most people said that the World was not getting any love especially with the huge overhaul that is going on over at DCA. I was actually surprised that the rumors were true due to part DCA expansion and part economy. The most excitement comes from the new E-Ticket plus the huge possibilities of a few new sit down dining experiences (one being confirmed as Beast's Castle, at least for dinner). It will be sad to see ToonTown removed as I have always been a fan of Mickey and Minnie's house however I think it will be worth the trade-off.
So what do you think of this big news? Leave us comments!
